Many of us have been approached in the mall to do a survey by a company that then pays you in goods or cash to give your opinion.  Today, that phenomenon has been replaced by surveys you can do in the comfort of your home and really get paid to do them.  There are surveys by companies that will pay you to try their product, that will pay you to mystery shop at their stores or that will give you goods or cash just to give your opinion about the company’s products or services.

There are a couple of ways to go about this.  First, you can register with 10-20 of the best paid free survey sites and take surveys as they come along.  You’ll receive probably more surveys than you can handle and can pick and choose the surveys you are interested in.  The money begins trickling in and adds up over time.

You can also register with one of the “mega-sites” that have sorted out the legitimate surveys for you and you can pick from a list of surveys that apply to your particular demographics.  Some of these mega-sites have you pay a small fee to belong but that’s just for the work they do in sorting out the best possible surveys for you.  You can easily make that sum up in just a few surveys.

Regardless of which method you choose, you can do this all in the comfort of your home and at your leisure.  To be honest, as some surveys pay only about five dollars, you have to choose more high paying surveys or expect that you’ll have to spend a lot of time doing surveys to really make money doing this.  You won’t be able to pay the rent with the money you earn from surveys unless you are a fast typist and put a lot of time into doing surveys.  It just may not be worth it.

Sometimes, you’ll be paid in “goods”.  Companies need people to try out new products and will send you a free sample of a product to try.  You try out the sample, give your opinion and get to keep the goods they sent you.  It’s not cash but you can get some cool stuff.

Some survey sites pay you in points.  You get a certain number of points per survey and then can exchange those points for goods, prizes or cash.  Again, it takes a number of surveys to earn enough points to get cash that makes any difference but if you have nothing better to do, you can earn points for cash to buy something nice for yourself.

Remember that these surveys are often long and convoluted so expect to spend a lot of time in front of the computer.  Nevertheless, it can be fun and you can earn some decent money if you put your mind to it.  Be wary of survey scams and stick with reputable survey firms.
