Can you really make money online, filling out surveys from large companies who will pay you to give them your opinion?  Well, you can’t make a huge sum of money but it is possible to make enough money to pad the income you already make or to have a sum of money for groceries or a treat for yourself.  There are hundreds, if not thousands, of surveys on the Internet and many of them are completely legitimate, offering you $5 to $20 or more to give your opinion on a product or idea the company offers.

How do you get into this kind of business and make money doing surveys?  There are a couple of ways to go about this.  You can search out individual surveys offered by companies by searching “paid surveys” on the search engines.   You will find individual surveys listed as well as sites that list places that are repositories for surveys from dozens to hundreds of companies.  In many cases, the surveys from these sites are pre-approved as being legitimate surveys so you don’t have to worry about doing a survey that is not legitimate.

You have to remember that these types of surveys take a lot of time.  Just to sign up for a survey site, you have to give at least an hour’s worth of time giving them your demographic and personal information.  They want information on your income, health issues, whether or not you exercise, the kinds of products you buy, what your personal interests are and other personal data.  This is before you even fill out a survey.  You could get to the end of the hour’s worth of providing your personal data, only to find out that the survey site has no applicable surveys for you.  You’ve just wasted an hour’s worth of time for nothing.

Nevertheless, surveys do come your direction and you have to decide if the survey is legitimate or not.  If the survey charges you money to take the survey, don’t do it as it is likely a scam.  If the survey purports to give you a large sum of money to do the survey, you can expect it to be a scam or, at the very least, the survey will take an extraordinary amount of time to fill out if it is legitimate.

Like anything, you can’t get something for nothing, so you have to expect that you’ll spend a lot of time filling out surveys before you get any return on the investment of your time and, in some cases, money.  While you can make money doing surveys online, expect it to be a lengthy and risky process.  You may be tricked by a seemingly legitimate survey that isn’t legitimate and you may find yourself in a survey that seems never-ending.  Even so, if you have the time to put in doing surveys online, you can make yourself a small sum of money in the process and can have fun doing it.
